I agree with the OP. This game has seen an optimization like a pig seen the sky.

Stuttering is the cancer of PC gaming. Even my friends who tolerate stuttering find the traversal stutter in this game annoying. Imagine me that I hate it! Please, devs, fix it.

Working fine on the PS5

It is getting more annoying as you progress the game, Brookhaven Hospital is really bad and they definitely should update the support of the res upscalers to their newest versions, cause damn I forgot of jaggy hair looks on prior dlss versions.

Sad to see we’re at a point now where very few people appreciate fluidity. The glazing that has gone on here despite utterly atrocious performance does not bode well for the future of PC gaming

Exactly, I'd rather wait an annoying compiling of shaders pre starting the game, than have to suffer traversal stutter because of it.

Built on UE5. The game was going to have stutter and low framerates from the very first day they started coding.

Engine sucks, just like every UE before it, but now worse the more they've crammed into it. Publishers make devs use it because it's extraordinarily cheap to license, and it's easy to use. But the ease of use is what makes games perform like sh!t as staff with deep technical knowledge aren't 'required' so anything more than extremely basic optimisation doesn't happen.

That being said, they didn't even enable a shader compilation step which is baked into the engine, so that goes to show just how little they know about the engine they're working with.

I like Bloober's games, but they've never been a studio focused on performance. Their last game 'The Medium' was even worse than this performance-wise so at least they've learned something.

Shuttering nightmare actually.

They've been testing two builds for days, I think we could see a patch between today and tomorrow

Hi guys! You could try this... Definitely super easy and completely reversible. I was able to fix my stuttering and run the game on mostly max with just low shadows and medium shaders.

Best wishes!
