Which key do I use to quickly switch between the melee weapon and the pistol?

1,2,3 on the keyboard do nothing. The mouse wheel does nothing either.

There isn't a quick switch...
To use the melee weapon, you just press the fire button.
To use a gun, you have to aim and press fire.

You always have both ranged and melee weapons on, there is no switching between those.

Hold aim to use ranged weapon (right click), left click to attack with melee. 123 swaps your equipped ranged weapon if you have more.

just avoid m2 at any cost if u want to use meleee
m2 and use the keyboard binds 1 for pistol 2 for shotgun 3 for rifle.

u will get used in a few minutes.
