You can't tilt the analog stick to walk slowly
You either walk at full walking speed, or you stand still. You can't move slowly by tilting the analog stick slightly.

I know it sounds small, but I'm just so used to having this in literally every game - it actually makes exploring and observing the environment much less enjoyable :<

If you see this, Bloober, please allow the player to walk fast or slow based on how far you tilt the analog stick.

Has anyone else noticed this and does it bother anyone else, or just me? :(

Analog movement should definitely be in every game, hope they can patch this in, bizarre it isn't in the game

that's funny considering that the game yells at you multiple times that it's optimised for controller and not to use keyboard and mouse.

This is upsetting.

You might want to try a different controller. I was moving slowly all night in the hospital with a PS5 controller. It definitely works it is likely an unsupported controller.

To be clear I was moving the analog stick slightly to move slowly too.

It might be that the Steam Controller support that comes with the game is busted, try turning it off and on

I've been using a PS5 controller. No Steam Input.

Even tried it with my Xbox controller. Nuh uh.

Are you sure you weren't just moving at the one default walking speed?

I mean, my right analog stick for looking is sensitive to how far I push it. It definitely ain't my controller(s)!

I am also having this issue. Don't have the console version to compare to but I would really like to know if this is just how the game is designed because it's driving me crazy.

Edit: A friend on PS5 said they didn't have analogue movement either.

Yeah, I feel it's just some Bloober jank.

It requires more programming. You either need to blend between the walk and the idle animation, or play the walk animation in slow mo.

Bloober probably couldn't be arsed implementing a solution, or they tried and couldn't make it look good, or something.

But after playing Resident Evil and The Last of Us which all have very smooth movement, this definitely feels jank :(

Funny enough, the game feels pretty decent otherwise. This (small) thing is probably my biggest complaint right now.
