Both have their positives, It's been a hot minute since I last played a game using tank controls.
Weirdly enough, I went back and played RE2 and RE3 originals after the remake, and those hold up remarkably well. Something about the melee design of SH2 doesn't hold up. The stiffness of trying to circle strafe enemy and then being locked hitting them in the head is just too tedious. In RE classic at least you are shooting and that's far more satisfying.
