I seen they added a over the shoulder camera perspective, very neat way of bringing a fresh perspective to OG Silent Hill 2. I still recommend people play both OG and Remake. They compliment each other very well.

Yeah, I actually just tried to go back to the original, using a PS2 emulator and it's really janky and I was bored to tears after a couple of hours.

Weirdly enough, I went back and played RE2 and RE3 originals after the remake, and those hold up remarkably well. Something about the melee design of SH2 doesn't hold up. The stiffness of trying to circle strafe enemy and then being locked hitting them in the head is just too tedious. In RE classic at least you are shooting and that's far more satisfying.

The original version is the best version unless you're like 16 or something... in which case i'm very sorry you missed out on arguably the most influential and interesting era in gaming history. Before games were stifled by CEO's who refuse to innovate and stick to stale formulas, remakes, forced real world politics and agenda's, DLC, live service and Sweet Baby Inc.

I weep for your generation.
