A bit of cultural relativism here, not the finest though. It's either FAITHFUL digital representation of actor's likeness (which somehow was achieved aeons ago, way back in late 00s in many games, and later in 2010s - in dozens if not hundreds) or not faithful. But somehow companies now forgot how to do it, especially high profile ones. As if something dictates how people's likeness should be represented in video games, for example, no? Now, to be fair we're speaking bloober here, a budget oriented studio with not much money to through around on facial features and the like. And I'd let it slide if it wasn't Silent Hill 2 of which we are talking about here, were characters' emotions must be portrayed correctly through accurate and faithful to the story facial expressions and body animations. Isn't that what remake aimed to allegedly "fix" like many individuals here talk about? That those essential elements somehow were missing in original and it's "time now to get everything done properly"? And there is no such thing "everyone's entitled to their opinion". It is either accurate or not. There can be no middle ground, only if the end goal is to twist reality and make people believe that things they see with their own eyes is not what they are "supposed" to see - just like some already-not-humans "upstairs" want to happen. But I'll keep the discussion to this forum only, disregarding, for the time being, other quite egregious examples of twisting real persons' likenesses in other videogames for the last 3-4 years.
Linking resetera is a sin which cannot be absolved.
