And I don't even have to watch it to tell you that most of it is highly nitpicky and subjective BS, edited in such a way as to look bad. I'm on my third playthrough of the remake and I've played the original SH2 more times since 2001 than I care to admit. I can tell you right now, that except for the fact that it is indeed too long for it's own good and the pacing was tighter in the original, all your other so called problems are very mild to non-existant and some of them are just not true (like your nonsense about jumpscares).
And yeah, It's way too padded, but it otherwise is an incredible remake.
As far as it dragging on, in my experience you'd have to be pretty bad at using the map and puzzle solving to think that. Even so, when you backtrack for things you may have missed, many creatures can reanimate, there's always something to keep you on edge. There's also always suspense when exploring, because you don't know for sure what you'll encounter, and they make good use of sound for mood. It also has FAR more suspense than jump scares, unless maybe you can't see the obvious that you need to look around every corner for manakins. They got a ton of things right than many top rated horror games don't.
As far as way too many enemies, I'll give the same answer I did to the tons of people that said that about Dead Space 3. When all you have is cutscenes with a few creepy characters, and scant creatures here and there, subsequent playthroughs lose pretty much ALL of their scare. It becomes far too easy to remember what you'll encounter. When you have to deal with multiple enemies, there's often the feeling of being overwhelmed, especially on harder difficulty modes. Did you know that the writer of the first Dead Space game thought the writers of DS 2 and 3 increasing the outbreaks with each installment made sense?
So you are one of those that want to refute so ething before even reading or watching the source, ok, you are blocked now, clearly not a sane person.
