the poetry puzzles made no sense to me
sad to say on my first playthrough i got stuck at the coins puzzle and had to resort to a guide to figure out where to put them. the poems were so vague and badly written.
will there be any more of these crappy poetry puzzles later on in the game?
i'm about to open room 201

"vague and badly written"?
They literally tell you what to do, they are so straight forward. At least on normal difficulty for puzzles, that's how I played, I don't know how it is on hard.

Nah got them 1st try. You just need to read and understand the simple instructions the poem gives you. Turn down the puzzle difficulty if you're too dumb to figure it out.
no need to be such a c u n t about it.

If you can't understand the text, you seriously need to consider getting help with your English reading comprehension.
then put this in your own words and interpret it in terms of what the game wants then:

"The Beast who its teeth in her flesh doth bore,
He who has failed, She who is no more.
Now unto you falls a grievous chore,
who carries blame for what fate had in store"

i'll wait.

Very simple. Pick any one of the three coins. It's your choice (this affects the ending).
Now unto you falls a grievous chore = now you have a difficult task.
who carries blame for what fate had in store? = who do you blame for what happened in this story?

Are you not a native speaker or have schools just completely stopped teaching vocabulary in English class?

TIP.

It is possible to match the pieces visually by aligning the tear lines for the verses, making sure there are no holes or overlaps. You'll know the matches are correct if the game autosaves and you can't move the pieces anymore.

I did 2 playthroughs, 1 standard and 1 hard and I must say, for the most part puzzles didn't really give me any trouble but on hard, ouch.
I had to look up some of the answers because I simply couldn't figure them out... and it also outlined just how dumb I could be.

You're trying to find which one is innocent, there's only two answers to each puzzle. Don't do it on hard if you hate that puzzle

Literally a skill issue, done without any guide on hard. It wasn't easy tho, I got stuck like 20 minutes thinking about them, tho it was really one of them that was really hard.

No guessing required. The answer is in plain text.
Sure, mate.
If it was a good puzzle, it would be something you could put together and figure out in your head with certainty before trying and get it right on first attempt. Which is the case in some puzzles, like the one at the hospital for the code padlock and you have to look at the picture of the nurse's team and do the math riddle, then the picture of the hospital and trees etc. That one was cool.

Others are dumb and you absolutely need to take a guess. Basically impossible to get it in the first try, like the one at the hotel to open the safe. You can make all the calculations right and end up with the wrong number of digits no matter what. Then you have to use "logic" to insert the missing number.

That is just bad design, because when your math came out with 3 digits when you're looking for a 4 digits combination, you assumed you did something wrong. Then you start trying all sorts of nonsense, wasting your time just to realise you did right all along, but you had to guess a number.

yeah the woodside coin box puzzle on hard was not written very well. the third stanza i was able to make sense of and placed the coins on my first guess based on the wording. the first two was just a fluke, and when the coins fit, i still didn't get how it related to the stanza that was solved. not great. not terrible.

perfectly reasonable on normal difficulty imo
