Faster Than Fog achievement despite taking over ten hours?
I finally got around to finishing the game. Upon doing so, I found out I got the "Faster Than Fog" achievement, which is for completing the game in under ten hours. Yet, it actually took me around 38 hours and 40 minutes to complete the game, and the end game statistics showed this.

I'm wondering if the pair of patches that occurred during my playthrough are part of why.

I haven't seen anyone else mention this though, so I figured I would.

Hey! Just to let you know, this bug has actually been around since launch, so it’s not from the recent patches. I finished my first run on October 10th, and even though it took me 21 hours, I still got the Faster Than Fog achievement. Seems like the game’s been having issues tracking playtime accurately for a lot of people. Hopefully, they’ll get around to fixing it soon!:Yonah:
Oh, thanks. I was surprised because I don't think I've ever had issues with Steam achievements being granted when they weren't supposed to (or vice versa). It doesn't matter to me either way, but I was curious.

My rate of completion was more described by "slower than molasses" so I was like "maybe it started counting from nothing with patch 1.04 or 1.05". That's all I could figure, but the odd part was, the game's own tracker was correct so no idea.

how tf do u spend 31 hours on 1 playthrough???
I explored just about everywhere, and most of my traveling was walking. It helps soak in the atmosphere.

My first playthrough of Resident Evil 2 was also double-digit hours (like 12 if I'm remembering right), despite the fact that I played the original in its day, and got completion time down to a couple hours afterwards.

For our first run, some of us do the extreme opposite of rushing in these types of games. We go slow.

I totally agree! There’s just something special about exploring every nook and cranny. I love uncovering all the hidden details!:Yonah:
