Silent Hill 2 Fog flickering
hey guys, i need help... i'm desperate:D... the fog is flickering permanently. i turned off gsync in the control panel and set it to fixed. that fixed the general flickering. but this fog, this flickering fog:D aaah... i tried all graphic settings activated/deactivated... dlss, fsr 1/3 changed everything among each other. the flickering remains.
i play with a 4090. the latest update, 1.4 i think, is installed.

does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

did you also tried to change your monitor-tv frequency? sometimes flickering in games and programs comes from trying to use an incompatible frequency (hz)

You have a 4090, turn dlss off, that should fix it?

it doesn't matter whether dlss, fsr or without. the flickering remains. i have reinstalled everything... it didn't help either.

Are you talking about the fog when at the apartment complex? Near the trash? That one was flickering for me also and i tried to change some settings but it never went away fully. I think that spot is just bugged. The fog for the rest of the game was looking fine for me.

hope you have luck finding the answer. if you figure it out, share later what you did.

exactly this place at the bottom of the apartment complex. probably this place is actually buggy. but there were other errors etc. i found a solution. supposedly, savegames that were created before the update 1.4 / 1.5 are partially defective and the updates probably further damaged the savegames.

i then completely uninstalled everything (with revo uninstaller) including the game saves. very annoying, but now the image errors are no longer there... except for the buggy fog:D

this should work for everyone. thanks guys

simply deleting savegames and starting a new game did not work, unfortunately... somehow the defective savegames must have affected other game files... i'm no expert :D

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics drivers?

Completely remove them with DDU, then reinstall.

I had it at the apartment complex like XΞИOΛLIΞИ mentioned. After that, it was fine.

i will do that, thanks. so delete everything with ddu and then reinstall the driver manually? is that safe? do i have to set any settings in ddu to avoid ruining my windows? :D

another thing i've noticed. there's sometimes a lot of ghosting around james' head/hair. especially outside. not indoors. but that seems to be a general problem... at least you can see it in every video/ lets play . is there possibly a fix for this?
