They sold over a million copies in the first 3 days I thought; only time will tell when it sells 5. I do hope, regardless of who does the remake, that the success of SH2 tells Konami that we WANT more Silent Hill.
They have destroyed the Silent Hill franchise for years until now, and it's great to see that they are finally giving us what we've wanted since Team Silent was originally disbanded.
Come on try harder...
RE2 remake sold 13.9 Million
RE3 remake sold 8.4 Million
RE4 remake sold 8 Million
But I think it's safe to say that in general, Resident Evil is a more popular franchise, so I wouldn't expect this game to achieve these numbers.
PS RE4 remake will probably get past RE2 remake eventually.
yeah, there's zero point in comparing it to Resident Evil. Silent Hill has always had a more niche audience.
Resident Evil is my favorite horror franchise (I mean, look at my PFP lol) but we also have to take into consideration that Silent Hill 2 Remake is available on considerably less platforms as well being only available on PC and PS5, while those Resident Evil titles were available on Xbox One (except RE4), Xbox Series, PS4, PS5, PC and even Apple devices. The fact that it moved over 1 million in 3 days despite that considerable disadvantage is actually quite impressive.
All very good points. You have a niche title, sold on fewer systems, and idk if true, but I heard it's sold in fewer countries as well.
Side note, I actually have very little experience with Resident Evil. When I was a kid/teen I was only playing Silent Hill, I didn't get into RE back then. It's only recently I played it, my first being RE7. I do have the village, but it's on my backlog. I haven't been able to get into it like I was Biohazard, which is....quite odd for me, since I adore horror games in general.
