Should I turn off music?

I feel like the music kind takes away from cutscenes but this is my first Silent Hill so I'm not sure if the music adds something to the message of the game or what

Edit : I only ask because there have been moments where there have been some rather upbeat music which caught me off guard but I've now gotten far enough to hear more of the more melancholic tracks

Haha, I half expected this to be a troll post. But yeah definitely keep the music, it's a huge part of the Silent Hill experience.

Lol pay no attention to those scorning you for it.

Honestly, play with the music it's way better for your first playthrough, consider turning it off for new game+ though when you have a rough idea of what to do etc and don't need to rely on audio cues as much

Yeah, you should. The music was composed by this Japanese guy nobody knows or cares for, so it'd only pull you out of the game. Better turn it off.
