It doesn't need to sell 10 million copies to be considered a success.

Over a million sales apparently across both PS5 and PC.

it sold 1 million copies within the first 3-4 days (as of October 11th). We don't know after that, no official info yet. They may inform us on this after 1 month has passed. I'm hoping for 2 mil for the first month, that would be very good.
About 10 million, I would assume that's a joke as not even Resident Evil is reaching those kind of numbers...

Just 1 million? It's def not making those sales then.

Its a niche genre, more players are gonna go with action games with less emphasis on the lore and back stories or shooters like war zone or battlefield or delta force.

Survival horror isn't the success story it used to be in the 90s, Only after RE7 was survival horror finally making a return but again its a niche market.

In fact, given that it's at around a million sales currently, it actually mirrors the numbers sold back when the original SH2 came out for the PS2.

Unfortunately it was also considered a flop back then too.

That's not even to mention the fact that this version of SH2 is outselling both The Callisto Protocol and Alan Wake 2’s launches in Europe in the first few weeks, idk about you but I'd call that pretty successful if you look at the OG SH2 launch.

Then there's the fact SH2 is platform locked to pc/ps5 only for a year so theres also the likelihood that it's going to release to xbox and gamepass at some point I guess.

A remake does not sell 10 million. And yes the game has been a financial success.

1 million is just as much as the og game sold, and it was considered a flop then too.

Why would it not be now?

You compared SH2 sales to two pieces of trash that both flopped hard, congrats.

It does not really help one find something as a success when the comparison is "it sold better than trash"

Silent Hill 2 OG sold 1 million in a month
Silent Hill 2 Remake sold 1 million in three days.
A little difference :)

It is one google search away from finding it. The official Konami post also said that it is 1 million as of October 11th

But again, it is everywhere, not that hard to find.

Like it or not, the numbers are there, also handily linked for you in the replies after I made this post above.

Take it or leave it but SH2 is a success.
