Question about the Lakeview Hotel

Hi guys, I've just completed my first run obtaining "In the Water" ending, but I realized I may have missed something.

Through the terrace of a room on the first (maybe second) floor of the Lakeview Hotel I could see what I thought was a book to collect: it was placed on the glass roof of what seemed a sort of greenhouse. I shot the glass of the greenhouse, the book fell inside it, but I never understood how to pick it up.

What was it? It was just some random document to collect or something to unlock a different ending?
