I ain't that hyped. I still prefer the OG versions. They should have remade the first SH. Done their own thing but nope.
I'll pick this game up when it's cheaper. Just because it looks fine with the graphics doesn't mean I'm dropping $70+ just for that.
I'd say the game looks fine "graphically" even though it just reminds me of Resident Evil 2, Alan Wake 2 (from the way they look/play and from what i've seen in videos)
but as for the censorship, the first Pyramid head scene with him in the kitchen (now James hides in a closet?)
The way the characters look (Angela looks weird to me now, the eyebrows and male shaped face/head...) this is how she looked in the OG game https://silenthill.fandom.com/wiki/Angela_Orosco?file=Angela_SH2.png all they had to do was bring that model to life in this remake
The OG Maria https://silenthill.fandom.com/wiki/Maria?file=Maria_SH_2.png and they changed her outfit and etc in this version.
There are probably more changes/differences but I'm not an SH 2 expert that knows the game inside out. You'd have to ask them.
seriously guys get your sh!t together, stop jumping in conclusions that have 0 credibility
i won't go any further everything else has been talked to death
OP literally contains a quote. If you're so doubtful of its veracity, you could drop it into Google. Or you could just be lazy and claim that they're making things up.
Here's a source:

James hides in a closet in the original.
It's a reference to the movie Blue Velvet.
Seriously, I don't understand how we've gotten to the point where people are giving the remake so little credit, that they are just making things up to be mad about.

they gonna work on other games on their own now, so i don't think we will get a remake from them again.
can't blame them honestly, the so called "real fans" are absolute cancer. no wonder silent hill never got a sequel.
if they can turn the second half (we all know what part) in to a less frustrating experience i'm all in for a SH4 remake
"Real fans" are often the most critical when it comes to their beloved franchises,
One too many changed things can make or break the success of a title because you're hoping as a dev that the fans will see what's coming and it will be an instant buy for them.
I think bloober did a great job imo, if anybody could have pulled it off, bloober was the ideal choice.
but imagine Henry "what the hell" Townshend in full remake glory
Whatever title bloober decides to do if they put the love and respect they did with SH2 it will be great
I'm a Systems Engineer, if I fail at my job I will be fired or demoted. These guys are lucky they kept their jobs and were allowed to turn the ship around. In most industries you just get fired if you don't perform well.
It's not "hate" if my boss tells me I'm bad at my job and refuses to give me another chance. It's business. We didn't HAVE to give blooper another chance. I'm glad they proved us wrong, but they were NOT entitled to another chance.

And, on the other hand, it goes the other way.
Given the fact that their last game made its budget back in 2 months, i.e. it was a success, and given that SH2R is also a success, it makes sense that they will continue to develop games.
Which, like Bloober, if you're doing a good job and still getting hate, could be said to be unfair.
