Question about Eddie
In the lore of Silent Hill, is there an explanation for why Eddie is so tough when you fight him?

I mean, obviously in the game he’s tough because he’s a boss fight, and you can’t have a boss drop from a few handgun rounds. But in the Silent Hill universe, is there any justification for why he’s so difficult to put down?

Because based on everything I can tell, he’s just as human as James is. He’s not a manifestation of the town the way the monsters are. He’s just a guy, and not a particularly robust one at that; he’s out of shape, wimpy and vomits uncontrollably at the sight of a dead body when you first meet him. Then a few hours later, he loses his mind and it’s like you’re fighting Revolver Ocelot in MGS1.

So is there any justification for how that change comes about?

I'm confused about his role at all. Everyone in this game just seems like a crazed lunatic. What is his deal, and why is he in Silent Hill in the first place? He seems... touched.

Whut. Everyone who enters Silent Hill is kinda loony in some element, minus Harry from the first game, who’s literally just a bystander who got wrapped up in the town’s bs.

I'm still confused about the ice cream eating. Desperately eating melted ice cream using his fingers. I can't really capture what message they were trying to convey there, but there's something.

"you didn't lose your appetite" or something like that

The ice cream is frozen to Eddie. Angela is in a fiery world, and Eddie is in a frozen world. That's why you can see his icy breath in this game. He's in a slightly different world from James.

I honestly didn’t understand the lore until recently haha. Now I know people with some sort of guilt are lured there. And their stories are pretty haunting for sure!
