Crash every time I load a save file: "An Unreal process has crashed: UE-SHProto"

EDIT: Any idea what could it be? I was just playing the game god darn it :(
EDIT 2: It was mods, specifically the Improved Weapon Balance from Nexus Mods. It now makes the game crash with the new patch released today.

To be clear, I wouldn't mind this considering the patch has JUST came out.. but, like.. I was playing the damn thing. I got interrupted.

Hey bro, i had this issue until i found a solution that worked for me, go to library, SH2 remake, right click, properties, go to installed filed and update your files, this worked for me since doing it today and my game crashed 8 times in the same place until i did this, hope it works for you too :)

Hello friend, thank you for your input. Unfortunately I tried doing that already.
It still crashes every time I try to load any save file. It's so weird :(

I'm assuming it's gonna be something with mods if you have any installed. My game hasn't wanting to load up either and I'm trying to figure out what mod isn't working with this update now.

maybe try type -dx11 in your launch options, this also/ i think was also a solution too, they've just released a patch too :P

I'm considering just uninstalling every mod and starting from scratch again honestly.

Bingo! It was mods. When I moved the mods folder, the game worked. Now I have to cherrypick which mod is causing issues.

Bingo! It was mods. When I moved the mods folder, the game worked. Now I have to cherrypick which mod is causing issues.

I had this too, it's because of some mods, like that weapon balance overhaul.
Remove all mods and re-add them 1 by 1 and see when it works and when it crashes.

Funny thing is, starting a whole new game fixed all the issues I had with crashing... Weird.

This mod is definitely crashing the game now.

Crashed my game twice just walking up the stairs in the apartment and then you remove the mod, the game doesn't crash.

EDIT: Can confirm any mods changing the stats of guns is what mainly crashes the game after this update. Just tried another one and it crashed in the same place as before.

Using the Custom look seems to work just fine from my experience so far.

Hi everyone, I have the same issue without any installed mods! I cannot reach main menu, game is crashing in loop with error report to unreal. The game was running perfectly (27 hours of gaming on SH2R) since today and since the patch's release. I don't know what to do

EDIT : ok, with - dx11 on launching setting, it worked for me

Umm.. that's odd. Have you tried un-installing and re-installing the entire game? I did that as one of the troubleshoots for myself. You won't lose your save file either if you only play on a desktop like I do. With Steamdeck, I don't know.

I edited my message, the soluce for me was to put - dx11 on launching settings and it worked
