it's hard for me to rate this remake because i still genuinely prefer the ps2 version, but if someone hasn't played the OG they might love this one. I prefer to see sh2r as the de facto live action movie adaptation of sh2 some people were waiting on but never got.
I had a completely different experience than you, especially in the hospital. At no point did I feel the urge to rush through the game. On the contrary, I calmly unraveled the story and tackled the challenges I encountered along the way. But here I have to mention something: I've played exclusively on joypad and I think it makes a HUGE difference. Much more relaxed position to play and the lack of properly response or aim make you go much slower into the game.
Yes, the puzzles are simple, and that's one of the best parts of the game. There's no unnecessary backtracking, and the puzzles can be solved more naturally, without focusing on overly challenging ones that just waste all your free time (I'm 40 years old and work 10 to 12 hours a day, so I really appreciate when games respect my free time).
As for whether it's worth $70? I don’t think any game is worth that, so it’s not something personal here. That's why I can’t even remember the last time I bought a AAA game without sharing the cost with cousins or friends.
Whatever you decide is your choice. I have no reason to shame you for that.
Either way, opinions/reviews and preferences or having fun are all objective. There is no wrong other than stating something is "bad" rather than stating that YOU find it bad.
Personally I found this brilliant, not been able to finish it but so far it exceeded my expectations.
I felt the same about the game.
As a game it is good for casual returns through it, but no where near as rich and detailed as the original. They constantly toss in old references from the OG game and mock us to your face about it even the voice actors/actresses do it to us. "remember this from the old game? Hahaha! No!" The game over all is a middle finger to the fans.
PS. Ignore the trolls here who came into my thread too about my review and said the same things... They are here doing the same thing to you too. Sad.
