You can buy a movie DVD that had a budget of like $80,000,000 for ~$20, but a game that is just code on a hard drive is $60-80? Make it make sense.
This game is 15 hours for a run through, maybe 20 if you're slower. Probably want two or three runs if you want all the endings and are achievement hunting. Vote with your wallet whether it's something you want to see more of, especially outside of the indie space, or not. If your wallet is more in tune with indie games and prices, Signalis is a fantastic survival horror which leans heavily on Silent Hill.
Go play Persona 5, it's 150 hours od gameplay and the same price. If that's all that matters, right?
Just play a free game for 1 minute to optimize cost to time ratio.
That said, I'm definitely enjoying it and finding it to be worth the money. Keep an eye on the little mouse icon next to people's names. When it's not there, it tends to suggest that they don't own the game. I'm noticing a pretty strong pattern of people who do own the game enjoying it. The people who have strong negative opinions of the game tend to have never put hands on it.
not the only aspect, but one of many.
also persona 5 is not only longer, but also better in every way. ie, the sound design in persona 5, even if it isnt a horror game, is a lot better (which is one of the few things this game should have done better than anything else).
Theres more combat in persona 5, relative to the amount of dialogues, and still it wont feel boring, because it combat system is entertaining and one of the main "features" of the game. the combat system in this game, like many other things in it, feels half-cooked and rushed, which makes combat feel boring and repetitive; a "chore".
the original version of this game is also better, relative to its original context and actual quality. the pacing in combat and puzzles is also better, even when this "remake" could have (and should have) included the option to "run fast" to try to skip some unnecessary battles, with the risk of getting ambushed or cornered, similar to a souls like mechanic.
but wait for a sale. I wanted the game, and just paid, I enjoyed it but if I had a do over, I'd wait for a sale.
The game is good, but not full price good imo
I absolutely loved P5R but come on, those are two very different games.
