Optimization and performance patches are needed, plz. Issue list:
The hardest part, making a great game is done, but the technical situation is pretty rough, and not helped at all by users who refuse to consider the technical aspect of a game in their reviews or are just not sensitive to stuttering or performance issues.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1Et12RgWlQ

The DF video is a good starting point
There seem to be separate problems
*Traversal sutter:
(because of asset streaming presumably) THIS CANNOT BE AVOIDED LITERALLY NO MATTER YOUR PC. The video demos a 4090+7800x3D. Please stop deluding yourselves saying it works fine for you. You are not sensitive to stuttering, AND CANNOT TELL. Good for you.
* Character animation stutter:
Digital Foundry diagnosed it as a deltatime issue that for the moment can only seem to be fixed by using tickrate+outside framerate cap :(
* Out of control memory usage:
It gets so bad that on Steam Deck they had to lock every upscaler but TSR or the game start eating 16gb of shared memory at lowest setting in sub 800p rendering
*Insufficient base optimization:
The graphics are fine but they do not justify this performance!
*Bad use of upscalers and denoisers:
The UE denoiser makes some surfaces have a boiling effect. This has been fixed by modders
Trailing and ghosting on moving objects like leaves
The game is also using the incorrect version of DLSS

I hope this is looked into and the team is working on improving the game.
Hope I can play this on Deck someday or at the very least, without stuttering on my desktop
And posters, please, stop taking people asking for competent PC porting and good optimization as an attack on developers or a game you like. If you do not notice this, great, but these are problems we can MEASURE and they should be fixed. Thanks!

Bloober have already responded about the performance issues, hitching, stuttering and other performance issues such as poor framerate and they've said they're working on a patch.

Just gotta be patient for a bit.

Where did they respond please? IGN? Their own website?

A straight google isn't showing any hits.

EDIT:
Nevermind, I found it in the steam forums.

I made a recommendation that I doubt the poster representing Bloober Team who I quoted will see, recommending that they simply provide this update on their game news page. Doubt they will do that though.

This is the reason for stutters, amd drops min and 1% fps very strongly and is prone to stutters.

All of these separate problems need adressing. Hopefully they are thorough when patching and we remind them to instead of just adressing only the worse

Hope the community is able to be thorough as well, turning down the heat on the devs only when these issues are completely fixed

No, it literally cannot. Watch the video. You dont notice stutter

The video is not about ps5 you ignoramus. Its conclusive proof that the game will stutter on literally ANY piece of hardware because it both mismanages traversal loads AND has a deltatime issue in the animations. This is not up for debate, it's measurable. The fact that you dont notice imperfections does not absolve the developer of a mistake in a 70 usd product. Why are you and others so darn hostile to the idea of people wanting patches to improve a game? Do you miss buying disks and sticking to 1.00 because if you can finish the game, then its already perfect?? JEEEZ LOUISE

Too late, I already finished the game :D

Demand for optimization is a frequent theme for UE5 games.
This is not exclusive to Silent Hill

Only hostile person here is you, saying others don’t “notice bad quality” and being aggressive just because we said it runs perfect for us..

Well, to be fair, you are trolling. You have a thread open about how the games performance issues are endemic to UE5 and cannot be fixed, while simultaneously posting about how perfectly it runs for you on every thread related to said issue
