Fun game but YIKES does it lean on "puzzles" hard.
Every few steps oh great, another area with 100 locked doors all requiring different keys, where each key is in a box that needs 20 magic pebbles, and each pebble is behind a padlock that requires you to find 4 hidden numbers, and just kill me...

Every time something requires some kind of code to open it I've started just looking it up online. I've played a decent amount of Resident Evil so I'm used to a certain amount of this, but this series apparently leans REALLY hard on this crap.

I guess you don't enjoy puzzles.

Like I said, I play a lot of Resident Evil so I don't entirely hate this kind of thing. There is a point where it becomes less of a game feature and more of a crutch, though.

Didn't play the original game, I take it?

Also, crutch for what? Every area in this game is 2x the size as in the original game, lol.

A staple of survival horror games of old.

Most horror games these days are walking sim snooze fests.

Funny thing is the passwords don't change except for one at the end, so in some cases you can skip a lot of exploration and just go straight to where you need to go.

Two thirds of the hospital can be skipped because of this. Both versions of it.

did you played original sh . lot of puzzles , hard to figure without guide

Well, I kinda agree, but you can skip many of these in subsequent runs, as the answers won't change unless you change levels.

Besides, it's PSYCHOLOGICAL horror, so it's gonna rely on oppressive atmosphere and brain obstacle to hinder you rather than big boos.

This is what Silent Hill is all about. Navigating doors/puzzles. Exploring each area and then deducting which item goes where to open new areas in the game to move forward.
This is no RE4 (5 6 etc) style gameplay where the game is more focused on the action (and the combat is way better there) with some puzzle elements here and there.
Too bad Resident evil doesn't have more puzzles.

The original has some of the most BS puzzles lol. They dialed it down with 2, in comparison.

I agree. I like the game, well made etc. but some of the puzzles I guess I just don't have time or will to figure out, and then look them up lol
