Should I play the game with the NO FOG mod?

I never played the OG Silent Hill 2. I did beat and play the OG SH1 as a kid. Recently replayed it months ago.

Anyway, is the FOG in the game worth it? Or is the game cleaner/more atmospheric without it?

You're doing yourself a disservice if you remove the fog. Just play it as it is and you'll get a lot more mileage out of it.

I have no idea what you are saying. But play OG SH2 costs 0$ is better, the fog in the remake can hardly be called fog.

Why would anyone play an atmospheric game and mod out the atmosphere? Seems counter productive.

It adds alot to the ambience of the opening scenes and even gets more intense in reaction to certain things. It hinders your ability to see triggering the response of "wait what was that sound i cant see what made that sound" which causes the mind to wander and adds to the fear. Glad you decided to keep it though. I hope you enjoy the game

I think it would be fun to see the game with no fog after you have done all the endings. I might do that to ''peek behind the curtains'' per say. But definitely play the game on your first run the way it's intended, with the fog intact. Plus it really looks great.

I saw some screenshots, and I liked how it highlighted the environment and all the details. But not having the knowledge of whats hiding in the fog is obviously the route I want after giving it thought. I always play these types of games on Hard mode and try to handicap myself for realism sake. Huge fan of the series and RE. I meant no disrespect lol.

If anything, Ill replay it with the HUNK skin and no FOG.
