UFO Ending blue gem not working

I have started a NG+ and i have obtained the blue gem however i have got to the top of the Saul street apartments (before touching the juke box) and it wont let me use the gem at the symbol. Anyone know any reason why this is?

Are you not supposed to "use" it, just examine it.

He's right! I just had the same issue and it actually doesn't show what button you need to hit on ps5 to inspect on NG+so I've been reloading my save and mashing x button this whole time on the roof amd it does nothing. All you need to do is hit the square button to inspect but it doesn't actually show the button to use on screen while you are in the key items menu.

yes, you're supposed to examine it at saul street apt so james looks at it, also on the pier where you meet maria then.... VHS room.
