Anything I should know before playing?
I've never been a Silent Hill guy, more for Resident Evil but I wanted to give this a shot because of how well the reception it's gotten. What should I know?

Horror is atmospheric, so don't expect too many jumpscares.

Don't expect none either though.

As for story this one is self contained and you don't need to know anything from the first game to enjoy it.

Ah, then you'll probably like it, assuming by Resident Evil, you mean 5 and 6. It's essentially less scary with more combat and slightly woke compared to the original.

It's a great, psychological horror experience. The game is very immersive. The atmosphere is fantastic. The sound design with this game is incredible. It'll take another play-through to really notice the subtle environmental and monster changes that relate to the main character, but once you see it, the story just gets that much better, IMO. You need to play it with headphones btw. To me this remake is on par with the RE2 remake.

You need to conserve ammo, you'll thank yourself later. Some situations are okay to blast away, but try not to.
