Question on "mature themes"?
I feel like I'm missing something. Just got to the historical society so I'm pretty sure I'm near the end. Yet I've seen no indication of the myriad of things the game warns about like child abuse, domestic violence, suicide etc. do they just bombard you with it all in the last 30 mins or am I just being dense and missing some symbolism?

I've played the original so I can say it definitely starts getting intense in the themes when you get to the next part (suicide, depression and self hatred) and also domestic abuse towards the end. As for child abuse, I can't think of any examples from the original.

Did you close your eyes and shove your fingers in your ears during the closet introduction of Pyramid Head?

You still have around 5 hours of game play left even at this stage, and the heavy themes are displayed much more. However some scenes in the apartments do explore the mature themes, such as the first encounter with pyramid head (sexual and physical abuse), and the scene with Angela and the knife (suicide).

Um, what? Did you just literally miss Angela's entire backstory?

Honestly, it's both. You get these themes teased throughout the game symbolically, usually in ways that won't make sense until you get to the end and understand why these characters are in Silent Hill and dealing with this stuff. Some of it is explained more explicitly, and some of it is very subtle and requires you to piece together context clues.

only rick & morty fans can see the symbolism in the silent hill games

1).Wood SIde
2). Blue Creek
3). Brookheaven
4). Prison
5). Labirinth
6). Lakeview

I guess "not even past the first half" was not entirely correct of me to say, but 70% still sounds too much. More like 55-60%.

checked one of the latest glitchless speedruns, even though they will improve further clearly it is a good way looking at things since they dont waste time more here or more there. prison is at 60% of their run starting.

so we were both under or overshooting ;)

getting back to the topic in the upcoming 40% of the game you are confronted with all the above mentioned themes
