Previous SH references might hint the next remake
--SH3--

The biggest hint so far is the Motel Room. You visit this room in SH3 when Heather and Douglas arrive there. Heather also speaks with Vincent in this room when she returns from the Hospital.

Then there's the fedora on the couch, a headwear Douglas had in SH3.

If you return later, there's the Mark of Rebirth/Halo of the Sun on the wall. This sigil was used for saving in SH3, as well as being tied to Heather's backstory. There is also a note that can only be seen while trying to unlock the Rebirth ending which shows all the symbols of the Mark of Rebirth.

The name "Heather" is mentioned by the Trick or Treat announcer in Otherside Hospital elevator. This is kinda funny because the OG SH2 announcer's voice actor is the same voice actor who did the announcer in SH3's Borley Haunted Mansion. So, the fact that the announcer has "Heather" as a choice of answer was quite funny to me.

There's a Silent Hill Amusement Park poster in the locker where you find Shotgun.

James is turning red valves in this game. I got easy flashbacks to Valtiel doing the same.

Then you have the Mandarin enemies, a forgetable enemy in SH2 that was reused in SH3, which now makes a big comeback in SH2R.

Lastly, you have a couple of ominous wheelchairs placed in the game. Any SH fans that see a wheelchair can make the connection to Alessa in SH1, which in turn, leads back to Heather.

--SH1--

Like mentioned above, we got wheelchairs.

I heard someone say that the white dress you see in the Golden Apple closet looks like SH1's final boss outfit. Kind of a stretch, since a wedding dress is more tied to James...

Then you have White Claudia, which allows you to unlock the Bliss ending. The ending has no ties to SH1, but White Claudia does. Many notes makes mention of White Claudia throughout SH1 and the bottle somewhat resembles Heatlh Drink from SH1...

--SH4--

Everything related to Walter Sullivan. The newspaper article and the tombstone in the dark cemetary.

Room 102 in Woodside appartment looks very similar to The Room, the cursed appartment unit from SH4. However, only the kitchen and living room look similar.

The bathroom where you find the Jukebox button for Neely's bar is nearly identical to The Room's bathroom.
---

I think Konami is testing Bloober. They allowed them to do SH2. If it does well, they'll go for SH3. If SH3R does well, then BIG MAYBE for a SH1R.

SH1 is kinda sacred. Konami probably doesn't want to rush things, so this is why we got SH2R first. It's more likely that we'll get SH3R, which will allow Bloober to get more experience so they can be ready for the big one.

There's also a SH4 easter egg, and some for SH1 as well.

Hopefully they left Bloober hit the whole quadrilogy

I think Silent Hill 3 remake not happning before Silent Hill 1

What's the point of doing SH3 next? It's a direct sequel of SH1.

I think it makes more sense to remake SH1 first, but should they go with SH3, I'm not gonna complain. That's my favourite.
It's true Bloober left a lot of SH3 references in the game, but on the other hand the question is, was it really feasible for them to reference SH1 even if they wanted? Original SH2 and SH3 shared location assets to begin with, but with SH1 there is no crossover.

The only callback to SH4 is when you enter the Woodside appartment alley. The shape of the building looks a lot like the appartment from SH4.

What are those easter eggs you're talking about?

It really shouldn't either, considering that SH3 is a direct sequel to SH1

What if they add a small Harry segment inside SH3R? That would be cool.

Nah, not enough reference to SH4 I'm afraid.

The only subtle reference of SH4 I can think of is the sexy nurse outfit in Heaven's Night. However, the outfits do not match, and the outfit being there for James is in context to his situation. Litteraly 5 minutes later, we fight nurses in a mental hospital.

There's a direct reference to Walter Sullivan and it's possible that the prisoner mentioned in the notes hunting down another prisoner is also walter

I always thought that was a reference to SH1's Lisa Garland. It looks KIND of similar?

That's a Captain Obvious one, however, his name was always part of the SH2 lore. Just this by itself isn't enough to convince me that SH4R is next.

Not that close to be honest. ""Nurse Outfit"" for sure, but they don't look alike.

Walter Sullivan was mentioned multiple times in the original SH2 long before SH4 was a thing. Keeping those mentions is just doing justice to SH2, The Room has nothing to do with it really. If anything, they actually axed one mention of Walter by name in the Remake in order too substitute it with an extra mention of one of his victims instead.

Yeah, that was the closest thing I could think of though. I don't really know what that is supposed to reference, tbh, unless it's just forshadowing the nurses in the hospital. It's a bit of an odd one.

That or heaven's night catered to some kinks lmao

It could be the Room next though as that game was closest to SH2 in terms of background. My guess would be 4, 1 then 3 last.
