How do I use the X-ray?

When I interact with the Xray it brings up the existing pages but it won't let me add the ones from my inventory. How do I add the pages in my inventory? This is on mouse/keyboard.

you should just need to find the one missing one and then it should let you click E and magically the rest are there for you (i was also very confused)

Okay, I figured it out at long last. I had to reload a save, so hopefully this helps someone. You hit E to access the X-ray puzzle then press TAB to bring up your items. Then you can select and use your inventory X-ray sheets to complete the puzzle.
