Is there a reason to leave your personal items before the elevator?

it seems like you don't have to leave your personal items for the weight limit of the elevator. what does keeping them on you change?

No reason really other than to pad the playtime with forced stealth sections imo.

I believe the elevator doesn't work unless you put your stuff in the locker, as the following area is a forced stealth section.

as in mary's photo and angela's knife. you don't have to leave those

In the original, what items you took had an effect on what ending you received. I haven't finished the remake yet so I don't know if they have the same affect, but it's likely they do.

And to OP, I believe one or two of the endings can be influenced by whether or not you part with specific personal items. That is about as clear as I can get without spoilers.

I played the original game but this was WAAAAAAY back on the playstation2.

I never did get it on pc afterwards and its been what 24 years now since PS2?

So you can forgive a guy for not remembering every detail from the OG.

I barely remember what I had for dinner last week let alone recall specific sections from a game over 2 decades ago.

so for leave ending, i assume i want to take the items with me? cause i think leaving mary's photo behind would be symbolic of not caring about her.....maybe?
