About SH1/SH3 Remake (Exclusive Info.)
There will never be Silent Hill 1 or 3 remake, those games were a commercial failure and not liked by many.

The next remake is Silent Hill: The Room one. Already teased in the ARG.

Yeah, obviously SH4 sold so good Konami disbanded Team Silent as the result.

Silent Hill 1 is the best selling Silent hill out of the first four titles, so yeah, I'm not sure what you're talking about...

According to this place,(which who knows if it is legit but they do cite Takayoshi Sato in what looks like it may have been an interview or something?), SH sold 2 million copies of the game on Playstation 1 and SH2 sold 1 million. It does not mention sales of 3 and 4, but at very least SH1 did sell double what SH2 sold

Which to me is interesting because I actually prefer SH2 to SH1, but there's no doubt that SH1 is a damn good game too. Given how much SH1 sold though, 2 mil copies, I'd be surprised if they DID NOT do a remake of it if they deem the SH2 remake a success (and I think they will).

I feel like while SH1 sold more, SH2 is oft talked about a lot more and the elements and themes around Silent Hill itself very much inspired later titles.

Edit: My dumbass forgot to post the link to where I found that info. Sales mentioned are on this website: https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Best-selling_Konami_games#cite_note-silenthill-64

Like I said, not sure how...reliable that source is, but they do site another source. But it's in Japanese and it gives a page not found, so whatever they were sighting is like the hole in the shop--it's gone now.

Actually because of SH3 Team Silent was disbanded and SH4 was given that low budget. The decision was made after SH3 but SH4 was already planned.
Sh4 was supposed to be a different game before the name silent hill was on it.

Still a solid game.

SH3 wasn't bad at all. Neither was SH1

You sound like the kid who claim to own a PS6, but he can’t show you 'cause it’s in the cellar

Agreed. It was very different, so it wasn't nearly as well liked; but I for one, quite enjoyed the idea of being locked away, trapped in a room you cannot escape from. And the fact it fleshed out more about Walter Sullivan and what happened in things you read about in previous Silent Hill games was awesome. We need a SH4 remake too. ♥♥♥♥ it, just remake all the mainline titles

(Except Homecoming, let's forget that bastardization of the series ever existed).

This is a misconception the game was always supposed to be part of the franchise. The misconception comes from a misunderstanding form some interview where it was explained that the game started out as just "Room 302". The game was originally going to be something of a spin off title with the name essentially being "Room 302: Silent Hill" but then got rolled into being a mainline game.

This has a whole bunch of references.

SH2 is probably talked about more cos a lot of people act like scene kids with it and want others to think they're deep even though they likely got the info from a publication or video after the fact. How many times have you heard "well it was obvious what the game was about once James started jumping down holes" as if there aren't tons of games where the character climbs down holes in the ground while exploring. It's the same thing people do with Souls games.

Typical jester collector.

I personally think SH2 is regarded as the "best" of the series from the fans, despite his sell status. Also I think is a kinda "straightforward" story, no cult subplots, or anything of the sort. Simply psychological horror at his best. I don't think it was chosen soley based on how many copies it sold. That said, SH4 is the probably last (if ever even remotly considered) pick for a remastered. It's a great departure from the formula, and it doesn't have the same popularity as the other titles from Team Silent.

I don't think any of the Silent Hill games sold super well, but 1 was for sure a commercial success. Even the wiki page for 1 and 2 say so. Nowhere does it say that 2 was a huge success, it's just well regarded.
