I missed the box with the elevator puzzle! Impossible to go back?

Even back in the OG I missed this, only to miss it again in the remake. Infuriating! Sadly, I have overwritten the saves and I play on PS5, I can't just put a save right before the staircase run with Maria. No documents folder on Playstation sadly.
Any chance of going back from the night town?
I don't want to youtube the puzzle.

even the narrator iirc said that we could find it later in an unspecified location

No I'm sure the box is in the hospital. It was in the Original and there is no place other than the hospital for it to be in.

there is no way to go back unfortunately and if you input the wrong code you cannot retry unless you go back a save file:(

There is an autosave before the staircase run with maria, so it might be possible to load that save (settings > load > that autosave NOT THE MANUAL ONE) and just turn around, go back upstairs into the room across from the elevator and open the chest. There might even be another autosave before that so check.

I'll test it and myself and update this response if it's possible.

Sorry for getting back so late! I went to check and I didn't have a save file from that part of the game anymore, but if Maria is still with you, and your at the save point, you should be able to just walk back up the stairs. Anyway personally the loot isn't that worth it, minor spoiler of what it is the loot is literally 2 syringes and 2 handgun ammo packs . Dw too much if you can't get back to it, there's always other playthroughs, plus the sequence following the hospital has WAYYYY more useful loot to be found around the map and in the cars. yes there are enemies, but honestly it's no different than what you experience in the other world hospital, annddd they can be easily dealt with using the steel pipe

Maria, uhh, currently unavailable to say the least, so that ship has sailed. I'm making my way through the "Door that wakes in darkness" and I'm quite scared to say the least!
I saw on youtube what the box contained, and it wasn't much, really. But thanks for giving me a heads up and spending time!
