Every Silent Hill game ever on Steam

how cool would it be to have every Silent Hill game ever released on Steam. Even P.T. won't happen but that'd be awesome. Konami can't be bothered with it.

pretty much! that's why you have only one SH game on steam and only SH4 on GOG
the only way to play the OG games is if you have a PS1 and PS2

What about the original PC ports--weren't those based on the original code before they "lost" it?

Oh they have SH2 and SH3 source codes, just fine. That's how they released the HD collection

that does bring up an interesting point, square enix 'remade' / retold ff7 but just remasters other FF games with maybe some bonus areas. maybe konami is angling to do something like that and sh2r is the only one in the pipe? or it could be that the next remake isn't silent hill but rather mgs3 delta, then they're back off to pachislot. lmao.

Oh ya I forgot they already did FF8 “Enhanced Edition” treatment, with scuffed audio or w/e it was…even tho the game was never a port…Cos came out PC like right away with own release, I know, had it…also that it has the best audio quality/bitrate xD

I guess, keyword, I hope. One doesn’t seem butchered right, RE2 or w/e played on ps4 same deal. More of that please, in w/e form as long as delivers a playable product on modern hardware.

I still have PT installed on my PS4, but even after all these years it's terrifying to think about going through that again.
I think a Silent Hill collection could be possible but we'll see. But PT is probably locked in the archives at the Pentagon ;)

you can't
Japanese studios in the 90s early 00s didn't store the code for their games
the only ones that they have (konami in this case) are some beta copies
that they try to salvage and release them as the abomination that is the HD collection
hence why this remake and hopefully 1 and 3 are necessary

actually the retail release will be uncensored in japan for silent hill one on psx though. but it's alright like usa ntsc though despite being region locked.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the idea. With overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam--in spite of some (very exaggerated) performance issue claims, I think the Silent Hill fanbase is sending Konami a message--that we want more Silent Hill and we will gladly buy their remakes if they are good like this one is.

Imagine if they just sold P.T. alone for like $9.99. free money.

Holding an eternal grudge against Kojima for costing them 100 mils+ for MGS5 is the glue that keeps Konami going. I bet there's an executive position of proliferating Kojima hate between all employees. Top it off with P.T. being made behind execs' backs - nothing can bring it back.

Konami could use a copy of the ps2 version or give more to the PC Enhanced Edition boys some money, so the lost code isn't a good excuse. Also...there is a Metal Gear collection, Contra, Castlevania and more...but Silent Hill? Just in that awful HD Collection so many years ago and it didn't even have the first game. It doesn't make much sense and a remake, regardless of its quality, is never the solution (I like the REmake 1 and 4 better than originals as a whole and I don't think "originals doesn't matter anymore").

Yes, 'internet' and emulators exist and it's not difficult to begin with, but we can agree these games deserve much more than this.

Absolutely!
I would like to see Silent Hill Origins or SH 1 remastered or remakes first.
But I guess SH 3 is playing it safe for Konami. We all want more !
