The body left behind also has something quite disturbing about it when you look at it. It is bloodied in...places.
So yeah, I 100% agree with you in that, while they did change the camera angles, the impact is still there imo. It is more cinematic I think, and you'd have to be willfully ignoring what you are seeing to interperate what PH is doing in any other way than what it is.
I don't remember that detail and don't have a save game from before that moment anymore. Do you have any screenshots? Not that I don't believe you, but unfortunately I missed that detail.
Some of the trolls forgot to make their account private before I could see that they are all friends on steam with eachother hahahha.

This scene is actually alluding to how James killed Mary. In the original you get fading in and out shots of James Strangling Mary, and Mary is fighting back with what little strength she has. This is what was happening with Pyramid Head. It's torturing James with the murder of his wife he has blocked out.
