In the original game it looked like a silly dance and didn't even make sense in regards of the so called ra*pe. If anything, it looked like an implied threesome where pyramid head suddenly decided to kill them.

In the remake, what you see and HEAR is way more close to what resembles (to whomever who ever had sex in his life) r*pe and is way more disturbing. Please stop falling for the "censored" bait that's spread here.

The body left behind also has something quite disturbing about it when you look at it. It is bloodied in...places.

So yeah, I 100% agree with you in that, while they did change the camera angles, the impact is still there imo. It is more cinematic I think, and you'd have to be willfully ignoring what you are seeing to interperate what PH is doing in any other way than what it is.

I don't remember that detail and don't have a save game from before that moment anymore. Do you have any screenshots? Not that I don't believe you, but unfortunately I missed that detail.

Yea there are a few elements of that scene that are quite dark. I assumed it was simply lost on me on the original due to the graphics at the time. When you look at what is really going on its brutal, not to mention dark as hell.

Pay close attention to how James behaves when he sees the mannequin drop to the floor next to him. Look at his face and body language.

The creator himself has said this scene was not actually sexual. Sadly because Bloober removed the reveal of how Mary Died the connection can only be made in the original.

But spoiler alert if you haven't finished the game ahead.


This scene is actually alluding to how James killed Mary. In the original you get fading in and out shots of James Strangling Mary, and Mary is fighting back with what little strength she has. This is what was happening with Pyramid Head. It's torturing James with the murder of his wife he has blocked out.

Its been awhile the remake didn't have the same effect. Its just jarring in the remake since the room is empty and they just spawn in. Meanwhile the OG had you walk into it. Also like how James would unload into pyramid head in the original.

Yeah I didn't get any of that from the scene. They're just monsters acting oddly in both the original and remake. I played the OG version recently on my PS2 and the scene is longer with pyramid head in that version, but the remake is pretty much the same just less of the weirdness and a different camera angle. Anyways I just skip past the cut scene's after the first run, except when I get a different ending.
