Frame Generation Locked
Anyone know why I simply cannot turn Frame Generation on?

I have an RTX4060, Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling is turned on. And Frame Generation works fine in other games.. such as Cyberpunk 2077

But not this game! I am a little stumped

That's weird. Have you messed around with your game configs? Frame Generation is only available when running with DX12.

I have not messed with any ini file, but I have tried every combination of settings within the menu

Might not work, but try adding -dx12 to your steam launch options for the game. It might be using DirectX 11 for you right now, where the frame generation option will not show up for AMD nor NVIDIA cards.

Seems like the game isn't always choosing the right API (or any at all, resulting in immediate crash for some people) after recent patch, potentially related to Windows 11 24H2 update.

Wiping C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\SilentHill2\ solved lot of issues for me, like grayed out frame generation and locked 30fps cutscenes.
