on the current patch, which seemed to make it worse if anything. I easily meet the recommended specs as well!

Don't forget that on PC you can also get mods and VR mods. I am awaiting a sale to get it here.
Oh, and the game is great.
So there is extreme traversal stutter on pc even on the highest end hardware. There is traversal stutter on ps5 also, but it is far less invasive (especially on the pro). If you want a good sale price it is 40% of on fanatical at the moment. Though i'd say the ps5 version is the better experience currently, though still far from ideal.
i dont have extreme traversal stutter and my pc isnt the best possible.
Post a video with a frame time graph.
With that said you will have the stutter same as everyone else, even pc's with a 4090 and 9800x3d have the traversal stutter. What you consider extreme is personal tastes, but it is frequent and easy to notice.
You said “extreme” not that it simply exists. The stutter last less than one second and barely noticeable. It’s similar to the loading stutter that PS5 version has which people don’t notice there either unless they look for it. At least the PC version doesn’t have image artifacts and fluctuating FPS and 30 fps cutscenes that you can’t mod out.
Another possibility is to actually buy the game on PC and see for yourself instead of relying on a YouTube video that exaggerates it. I see you don’t have indicator that you own the PC version.
Why do i need to post a video? I said i dont have extreme stutter like you said, not that i dont have any lol.
Did you try reading what i said? and what you stated? lmao.
Thankyou. Also i didnt even notice he doesnt own the game himself on steam, so is he trying to push a narrative here that ps5 pro is better no matter what, like look at him stating further that a 4090 and 9800 X3D has extreme stutter but apprently its way less on console? It dont add up, theres too many pro sony fans here i feel.
Yes, sometime pc releases are worse then there console counterparts despite pc having much better hardware. It is the same as Dead Space Remake where it is present on both but is measurably smaller on console even when compared with the best hardware on the market for pc.
I don't like it and that I want to buy it on pc, not console is why I will not purchase the game unless this issue is fixed as the frequent stutter this game objectively and measurably has it not acceptable to me and would ruin my ability to enjoy the game. Your attempt to say you need to pay for it to have an opinion on an objetive and measurable problem is laughably silly. By giving them money I am reinforcing more bad releases, as well, the bean counters will say it was good enough so why bother doing the hard work to have a smooth game.
Beyond that, that you declare any stutter under 1 second to be not extreme is quite a wild statement, i'd say at the higher end of time 100ms of stutter would be considered very noticeable and detrimental to the experience and thus extreme, and not 1000ms as you suggest. This is especially the case when this stutters can occur several times within seconds of each other in some areas, again this has been shown in a repeatable fashion from everyone that has tried posting evidence that it doesn't stutter etc. But maybe you just have much, much lower standards then me and many others, but i'd say a stutter lasting one second is the game freezing, not what many would call a stutter anymore.
Stutter in recent history is often worse on pc. Even when both stutter in recent years it has been pc that is generally hit with far worse stutter. Digital foundries video even compares the stutter and shows it is different on ps5 and have stated it ismore or less cleaned up on ps5pro.
If you're going to tell me i'm a sony fanboy then you will have to explain the sheer number of games I own on pc (and I own many more on gog etc), and have been playing stalker 2 on pc which is objectively a way better experience on pc then the console version. Though it has issues that still do need fixing (which would prevent me from buying it, but I already have a game pass sub and performance isn't one of the issue I have with it).
I have not purchased Silent Hill 2 currently because I have stopped supporting companies if the product is clearly technically not finished, and that is the state Silent Hill 2 Remake has released and so far been left in that you for some reason have decided to defend.
tldr: If you care about smoothness in terms of frame rate consistency ps5pro is currently, and objectively the better release. If you want the highest visual fidelity and are happy playing with constant stutter that most will find detrimental then pc is the way to go. Don't complain to me about this, complain to the devs for such a terrible pc release.
Wow you are triggerd. If your pc is having big problems with modern games, then thats your problem not a worldwise issue. I have dead space remake, it played perfectly for me. You keep pushing this its a extreme problem for all pc users and its not, many people here are saying the problems are small or barely noticeable for them.
Yes your opinion would hold more weight if you actually bought the game yourself, but you clearly have a pc issue as your claiming to have big problems in other games also.
I see you don't have an argument. What I am doing is explaining my position, something you fail to do. That isn't being triggered, it is putting forth a position and backing it up with provable reality.
Yes the traversal stutter in the Dead Space Remake is universal, it effects all pc hardware and all consoles. There is no pc hardware available today powerful enough to brute force this issue and the stutter exists in nearly every room, sometimes multiple times. The 9800x3d reduces it quite a bit, but it is still there and pervasive throughout the entire game.
Your dismissal and attempt to claim it is my pc when it has been shown in every video is laughable at best. If you would like to provide some evidence to the contrary of your magical pc running dead space as you move from location to location without traversal stutter I and many others would like to see it.
Silent Hill 2 Remake on a 4090 and 9800x3d, start moving forward and traversal stutter and this is an area that isn't as badly affected as other areas:

It is repeatable and very obviously there. Deny it all you want, it is objectively there and you are arguing in favour of worse pc releases by trying to say such releases have no such issues (even though every test that uses objective measurements show it is present in both of these games). Your pc isn't the only pc that magically doesn't have these issues, it affects everyone, it isn't a bug, it is poor design in how assets are being streamed in (just dumping everything to be loaded at once rather then loading it in smaller chunks as other games manage to do without issue).
