Developer console commands

I am really surprised that I can't find a list of working console commands for the Silent Hill 2 remake. I don't know what Google did to lobotomize their search engine, but trying to search for dev console commands just points me to useless results. "No Google, I am not asking about the PS5. No Google, I am not asking about the 2001 original. NO GOOGLE I AM NOT ASKING ABOUT LEFT 4 DEAD 2!"

I have beaten this game. I don't particularly love this game, so now I'm just playing it to see what makes it tick.

So, I've been poking around and trying to figure out what commands work in the dev console.

I used this mod to enable the developer console:

Looking up a list of generic UE5 console commands... Help does not work, trying to dump the CVARS does not work. God mode says it works, but doesn't seem to actually work. Ghost doesn't work either.

Now, "teleport" does work, which combined with the flycamera is useful for getting past locked doors.

I'm trying to figure out how to add items to my inventory, like weapons and ammo, but without a list of working cvars or an item list, I'm stuck.

r.nanite 0 works and it improves performance.

There's a huge list of ue5 cvars but it's trial and error, you'd literally have to go one by one and make notes of the ones that work.

Yes I have already found that. The problem is it's almost useless. I need a dump of the cvars that Silent Hill 2 uses. I do not have the time nor inclination to try every generic UE5 cvar to see what works.

As much as it sucks that's literally the only way, it also depends on plugins and other assets bloober used in development, plugins also have their own cvars too.

I know with UUU for UE5 that has a cvar dumper for an individual game but idk if it dumps only the cvars silent hill uses or if it just dumps all of the ue5 standard cvars.

Well, in theory you can only teleport to the areas of the game you are in, because certain actions trigger cutscenes that will lock you out of earlier maps. If you missed strange photos you have to start over.

For example when I got to brookhaven hospital I teleported to the roof, activated the scene with pyramid head and went to the other world hospital, the problem was that the hospital wasn't loaded up all the way, even if you bypass the glitched areas and try to leave the exterior to west south vale wasn't loaded. I found out that you need to turn on the generator and activate the cutscene with angela in the second floor for it progress like normal.

Same thing with trying to go to the historical society building, if you teleport and no clip past it, there's no there, so my take it was that you can teleport to areas that are available to you currently.

I think OP is referring to the very recent shift to the top search results being generated by Google's AI. It is often hilariously wrong.

I’m trying to find what was the subject I’ve made a search on since I’ve read your posts, but couldn’t find it. What I do remember tho is how ridiculous it was. The second point made in a answer to my questions was a total contradiction to her first statement. If I ever remember I wrote it back in a reply.

But what I found funny and not funny is that, if it can make such stupid statements/contradictions in a simple question, then i started to feel a bit nervous suddenly remembering what I’ve been using it for, because at first I found this a.i a very practical tool for short explanations. So a couple days prior I was in my bios and asking her about the meaning of some of the options that I normally don’t play with in my motherboard, it is a x370 from 1st generation Ryzen. Some terms aren’t even used anymore by gigabyte or some info are not very well explained and the manual doesn’t explain anything about the option, juste that it can be enable or disable. The Ai on other hand always give info about the benefit or drawbacks of activating those options or features. Found that very practical. Maybe I overreacted but just to be sure I’ve rebooted my pc and I’ve reseted all to default, juste in case. Then did the same thing again but with ChatGPT
