Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.4?
Supposedly UE 5.4 runs a lot better than the previous versions, - I think other UE games have had their engine version updated before, right? Perhaps Blooper could do that for Silent Hill 2 to help boost performance a bit?

Updating the project to UE latest stable engine versión it's not as easy as clicking a button and go. It would require mounths to be ready and full QA new stage. However, I agree the trasversal stuttering contributing component related to PSOs generation on the fly will likely be a non issue using UE 5.4. Sadly, the game was developed using UE 5.1, and a transition to a newer UE5 version is unlike to be done post-launch, as it would requiere additional investing from the publisher and months to be ready.

Nope, epic actually made it quite simple to upgrade engine version, you just open the project with the latest build and it will throw a warning that some assets will need to be converted to the newer engine so that they're supported.

It would require QA testing though and some small optimisation passes, it depends how much bloober have modified the engine as to how seamless the transition will be.
