Otherwise why do you care?
We don't know the development/marketing budget.
We don't know what Konami projected.
We don't know current sales, other than that they are at leas 1 million in three days (current estimated numbers therefore suggest ~2.5 million to 3 million+ sales, as long as consoles sales didn't dip disproportionate to PC sales, but that's an estimate at best).
We do know the game was limited to the PC and PlayStation ecosystems; the Xbox gets it in a year.
We do also know that two additional Silent Hill titles, "Silent Hill f" and "Silent Hill Townfall" are in development. As is a movie.
My personal guess is that unless Konami was shooting for the moon with expectations, which I find unlikely but you never know with companies, then they at least probably aren't unhappy with current sales (plus future expectations), that is if they are around 2.5 million+ right now.
Whether that means we see another remake of a class, and whether it is Bloober that does it again, remains to be seen. We're all in "wait and see" mode regarding this.

They themselves have said they have moved on to work "on other projects" like the one shown above.
Any rumors being spread is entirely from hoping fanbase of this remake.
