DS2 had the first remake in the dark souls trilogy
Silent Hill 1: The clear favorite in my opinion
- It needs remake the most on a purely technical level
- It is the first in the series and sets the story of the town of Silent Hill
Silent Hill 3:
- While this should have the lowest priority to be next, because it comes after SH1, it is my second favorite Silent Hill after SH2, so that in itself is a good reason for me to want it
Silent Hill 4: The Room:
- While I think this is the worst out of the Team Silent games, it has one of the best stories. It has very good idea behind it, but there are some problems with the execution. The things that need to change in my opinion are. Better monster design. Make Henry Townshend a more fleshed out character, he is extremely bland and uninteresting in the original game. Don't force us to go through the same levels twice, I think they should extend the locations but make us go through each one of them only once.
Whichever comes first (if any) I think with SH1 and SH4 they should take more creative liberties and add/change parts of the game. SH1 because it is really old and has outdated graphics and game design. SH4 because it simply has some weak parts.
With SH3, I think they should do exactly the same as SH2, do mostly a faithful remake, that barely changes small things, and mostly extends and improves what is already there.
The original games are not going anywhere. No matter what Konami does in the future, There will always be a way to play them.
We have "Silent Hill f" upcoming, so there's that
I know, you're right, but I think they deserve better than "search in internet or emulate it". Also I'm sure there are people who want them in a retail box or in his favourite online store or platform and they want a more simple way to get them. I don't think the avaliable ways right now are complicated, but maybe there are people don't think the same way. And the HD Collection...well, it didn't make 2 and 3 justice. Besides if there are so many recent recopilations of Castlevania, Metal Gear and Contra, why not Silent Hill? I believe Konami can do it.
SH3 is ok as it is, I finished it recently in HD PS2 emulation and honestly it looked great and played great (it was extremely short tho).
Of the later SH games (games after 3 and 4), only Origins was any good.
It has to be SH1 then SH3 because they are connected sequentially 1 and then 3, but SH2 is an unrelated story. SH4 is available on GOG.
