"As Close as You Like"
I finished my very first play-through wooo and I am new to franchise. I want to play again for a different ending, and get some more of the achievements.

For "as close as you like" that means no guns? And does it mean no guns even with the boss battles?

Thanks!

you can still shoot any objects, instead of hurting any enemies.
And most of players equip new game plus weapon to earn this one.

Even in boss battles. Use the new game+ weapon.

As close as you like is best done on new game+ , also you can get all the endings on your 2nd play through if you set it up right so you can collect all the achievements at once. The only time you have to play the game again normal is if you missed collectables on your first playthrough.

Yup, you aren't allowed to shoot any of the enemies with a gun. Some have said that it only counts the fatal blow as using a gun or not but personally I wouldn't risk it. You're going to get a crazy good melee weapon at the farm on the way into town in New Game+ that will make getting that achievement very easy.

You are allowed to shoot anything that isn't an enemy, and that's put in there for the segment in the hotel where you have to shoot the glass out of course.

Use Chainsaw, in short, rip and tear until it is done.

comments are saying it must only be melee but im pretty sure its only determined based on the final blow. I don't know how the first phase of the final boss would even be possible with only melee since she's airborne ?

I didnt get all the memories the first time, because I am new and didn't use a walkthrough just kinda winged it lol. So do I have to play it again on normal to get them all?

It's possible but very annoying, basically you have to run from her to start the fight for a while and she'll get annoyed and scream at you, after which time she drops lower down to melee range for you for a short time. You may have enough time to clear the phase with a few chainsaw hits, otherwise she'll get airborne again and you've got to repeat the process.

I'm planning on getting one of the endings that ends the game in Room 312 to avoid that and the dual Pyramid Heads altogether, because the achievement will pop as long as you get an ending and otherwise satisfy the requirements.

You can shoot at enemies as long as you dont kill them, and kill them with melee. This applies to all enemies including bosses.

2 pyramid head boss is actually easier with pipe btw, they both share the same health bar and they go down so quick with pipe. But if you aren't used to dodging then maybe it is harder. And for the final boss you hit the flying things that she throws at you.

You can get all of the collectibles on New Game+, but you've got to do it a bit differently - in normal mode, there is a memo in the Lakeview Hotel called Lost and Found that is replaced with an item that you need to trigger an ending in New Game+. As a result, you need to head over to the bowling alley to get a memo out of a safe in there that only appears in New Game+. Collect all the other memos in the game and then you will get the achievement.

I would seriously recommend using a guide for the collectibles now that you've played through once and won't be spoiled about anything, there's a TON of them and it's so easy to miss one or two.
