I wonder why this remake is being talked down to bad? I mean, we live in the 21st century and, thank God, we don't live in a dictatorship. We have free choice and can decide for ourselves whether we want to play the remake of Silent Hill 2 or not? I'm really looking forward to it, I've had the remake on my Steam wish list since 2022. Nobody is forcing you to play the remake, are they? Just stick with the original and then it's fine, I won't play the original for the simple reason that I find the graphics and controls of such old games super annoying and ugly. I won't get Resident Evil 5 either because I'm really excited about the first 3 titles I played. I will skip one version. For the simple reason that there is unfortunately no remake or new edition of Resident Evil 5 with improved modern graphics. I've asked everywhere, but to no avail. That's why I'm going to skip Resident Evil 5 and will play Resident Evil 6 the remake.

And for exactly that reason I will refrain from playing the original Silent Hill 2. But I'm really looking forward to the title.
