How do I get Silent Hill 3 working properly on PC?

Tried installing the Widescreen mod and it doesn't seem to work. Framerate is inconsistent, graphics are stretched and controls/mapping is awful.

I don't have this game on PS2 anymore but I considered it the Zenith game of the franchise, so I'm dying to degen out on it again.

i don't think it ever worked right on pc... aa gave it shimmer for some reason, there were tons of gfx problems there were quite a few issues even back then.

So even that guide says it's hard to get it working properly and there's a lot that can go wrong.

They never made an Enhanced Edition for SH3 like they did for 2?

I recommend emulating the PS2 version. Some Google-fu will get you to a few sites that will help you out with setting that up. The PC version isn't great on modern systems.

The steam006 patch is the one you want.

Although remapping controls yourself is still annoying as its not done automatically.

There is no Enhanced Edition for 3 cause the devs are still working on 2 updates, and they consider 3s port to already be a lot more stable compared to 2 (originally)
