So while I think its worse than the main story, Team Silent did a good job at adding content as a separate extra so that it doesn't interfere. And even then the extra in that story is not really important, just a bonus for those that want it or ignorable for those that don't.
I don't know, I really loved it, because it put a human face behind Maria. Made me truly feel for her as a character in the main game. I then went and got the Maria ending even following playing it the first time.
But I also appreciate how they made it such an "extra" that if someone were to dislike it, its easy to avoid since its a separate mode and doesnt completely break anything
Yeah, it doesn't break anything, because the original devs knew what they were creating and stuck with it. They created one of the most in depth David Lynchian story's to ever grace the console era and this scenario just added to the game's perfection.
