4 works perfectly fine on GOG, though and at 4K. If they had the decency to remaster the PC versions of 2 and 3 with reverse engineering, we'd have them, too.
4 on GOG even allows you to mod it to restore “missing hauntings” that used to be PS2 only.
The Enhanced Edition of 2 already is a remaster of the old PC port but by fans. Since we know Konami would never bother.
And 3 actually doesn’t need much other than a steam006 patch that you place in really quickly
Really good resource showing the original intentions. Like how Angela in the original was always meant to sound older than she actually is due to how she was affected before the game starts. Its the little things in the original version that really add up.
This applies to all games really, but especially games that are never getting ported "officially" because the new devs believe their remake is a replacement.
But in this case, the fans have kept the classic SH games available working on modern hardware. Its not an "if" SH2 works, it WILL work due to the Enhanced Edition.
So imagine the mod potential of a PC SH1.
And with fans keeping the original up to date for modern hardware, it’s odd to want a different interpretation that misses out on the little details
