Can we have Silent Hill 1 remake next?

So glad Silent Hill is finally getting some proper love, can we finally, after 20 years get SH1 remake we really need.

I can see why you mightnt like it. I do not think it is an "ok" game though. SH1 is definitely not mediocre. It is a great game that has aged poorly (it has aged better than most PS1 games) which is all the more reason to give it the remake treatment. SH2 is still very playable in current day making this remake more pointless.

I'm pro of SH1 remake, yes. It is just not a favorite in the series (i didn't even finish it TBH, something im perhaps planning for the future, perhaps on emulator since i have it pre installed on my new game stick, together with lots of nice PS1 games, too bad some of them have only japanese text). Kinda same like Alone In the Dark remake, didn't play any of them except new nightmare but looks very interesting still for me.

Silent Hill f is the only game of all the ones announced that seems interesting. I have no problem with the devs doing something very different and radical, because that's what the series needed - if you just want games that try to (very poorly) emulate the first few Team Silent games, just play Homecoming or Downpour. I can guarantee you that if Team Silent were making new SH games today, they'd be doing strange, new and radical things with the series, just like they did with SH4. They had no interest in redoing the same type of thing over and over again (despite a lot of Western fans wanting that because of their obsession with SH2).

If they want to do something very different, why they don't change the name too ? If tomorrow they want to make a racing game, why would they call it "Silent Hill : Race Game" and then cry about the fact that we compare to others silent hills games ? That makes zero sense.

I just made a thread about SH1, but as much as I love SH2, they've already re-released it so many times, and SH1 is still stuck on PS1. I don't understand that.

Silent Hill 1 is still one of the best scariest games ever released! if they done what naughty dog done on the last of us to the first game id be drolling over it but this is rubbish doing the 2nd one first? ill keep an eye on it but dont hold any hope

Fully agree. Silent Hill was the actual "Resident Evil" for me.
Phsycological horror.

When it comes to Capcom I prefer Dino Crisis. Even though I own all of the REs, the story always disturbed me, since it's too weird. Especially when being betting from a zombie, the main char-armor kicks in.
No infection at all.



But when it comes to remakes I always end up disappointed.
Capcom remakes their dumb RE-franchise.
And Konami thinks it's a good idea to remake SH2 instead of the first one.
I loved the second one, don't get me wrong, but the first one is simply an all-time classic.
Also the second one doesn't really fit into the narrative. It has its own good story, but still... I would like to play Harry looking for his daughter, instead of James looking for his wife just to find out he actually killed her and locked these memories in his brain.

It is a Silent Hill game. Even if it wasn't always meant to be one. The story connections are still there in the final product.

yeh we need silent hill 1, dunno why they are doing 2 first when 1 was so much better, if they make the other world an actual other world it might be ok but i doubt it, in 1 you knew when you went through the other world in this i didn't even realise until the hospital. 2 was actually pretty boring in comparison and the enemies, 1 and 3 were scary, this was meh, legs and sliding guys all over

I think Hideo Kogima & Gullermo Del Torro / normun reedus "Silent Hills" was supposed to be the silent hill 1 remake, konami cancled that game fired kogima and made him wrap up MGSV:TPP with the entire middle of the game unfinished/missing according to the streets
