But I agree that I'm not particularly excited for this game, since the story is so overdone and familiar at this point that it's not interesting.
Good point. Original Silent Hill 2 is basically abandonware at this point.
Not to mention the re-release version was pretty trashy.

They could've put it on GOG like they have with SH4, but apparently there are issues with voice acting licensing. And the same goes for SH3.
I just can't see this blowing up like the Resident Evil 2 remake, because Silent Hill's gameplay was never its strong suit, it was just something that people put up with for the story/atmosphere. Here's the first boss fight in the game, to give an example, look at how awful it is:

And the Enhanced Edition has a smart installer as of its latest release, no need to manually move files into folders, it's very accessible now.
I have the OG PS2 special edition which i bought second hand pretty cheap. Maybe like 10 bucks.
Nothing's perfect, nor the Silent Hill games
