Bring back ORIGINAL voice actor for James Sunderland - Guy Cihi !
Did you guys learn NOTHING from the terrible Silent Hill HD Collection? No offence to the new guy, but Guy Cihi's delivery was so unique, and otherworldly, facilitated by him not being a voice actor, so his dialogue came off as having dream-like qualities: awkward, genuine and most importantly lacking self-awareness, which added vulnerability to the character but this new Troy Baker-lite sounds like he's a generic 'tough guy protagonist'.

Bloober Team claims they're huge fans of the original experience and wanted to recreate it. somehow this terrible creative decision makes me doubtful of their qualification (as does most of their gaming produce).

If you can't get the guy, at least have someone do a similar approach to the role, I know I'm not the only one that feels this way!

Do we even know who voices James for the remake?

I doubt he'll ever want to work with Konami again after they tried to trick him into signing away the rights to his performance. He only settled for the HD collection because he didn't want to hurt the fans.

His character seems kinda off too - in the trailer he comes off as depressed and in tears when in the OG game he never really got emotional until he found out what he did to his wife.

I'm sure they can figure something out, I doubt it's that hard, just throw some money at him.

It won't happen, read about his relationship with Konami.

I do agree that hearing Troy Baker in so many games some times it feels like the vanilla characters when you create a character in any rpg. But he is a good voice actor, and he has some games where he did a memorable job. So you are going to have a solid job.

Kocknami absolutely hates everything made by the old Team-Silent (and Kojima Productions), so no - they are not going to bring anything old back. The trailer literally looks like a mix of someone's Blender showcase + Downpour video clips. Heck, they even put COMBAT in the center piece and are now introducing dodge mechanics and combos, a la Homecoming.

Like I've said before, look up "SH PC Guide + DL links" on the interwebs, download and play the OG games. They will run on literal WinXP era wormboxes, and they still hold up damn well.

He sounds generic 'troubled guy but can still use a glock", there was a charm about original VA cuz he had no self-awareness, no Ego, no ID inhibitions

I mean I hope the voice clips get added into the game via patching at the very least, but didnt konami bring back like Masahiro Ito and the Yamaoka guy? I feel like they dont hate em to the comedic angle some ppl think.

Time moves forward and things change. Sometimes that can be a little rough, but the new interpretation doesn't make the older original one vanish. It still exists and can be enjoyed if you wish, and you can simply ignore the newer version if you find something you don't care for.

This Ito fellow seems familiar to me but I'm not sure from where... Akira Yamaoka, though, that's going in the right track!

Ito is the guy that designed all the monsters, he was one of the key members of team silent

Issue is people want more silent hill games. if we ignore 2 then konami will just shrug and go oh well no more Silent Hill games for anybody anymore.

We want silent hill 2 just not this one.
