So... What exactly is this?

Edit: This game, as far as I can tell, is purely "As stated" on the store page. No underlying troll or rabbit hole or anything like that, aside from any twists and turns that may be contextual to the game world itself. If your curiosity was the same as mine in that aspect, consider your question answered and act accordingly.

Is it a satire? Is it trying to be semi-serious? Is it unapologetic activism and idpol?

The name is just too "on the nose" for me to take it at face value. I know Hemasaurus came out the gates swinging like it was climate change activism, but was actually just joke after joke making fun of everyone and everything, and most of all itself. Whether or not I agreed whole-cloth with some points it did seem to take seriously was inconsequential because it was a fun game making it clear that you weren't supposed to take anything all too seriously.

I'm a live and let live kinda guy, where just because we may not agree with what lifestyle one another lives or our deeply held beliefs, as long as we aren't forcing our views, we can talk and disagree but still be friends, or just agree to leave each other in peace if the divide is too great. I'm not here to debate further and start an argument, it's just to say the subject matter is moot in that aspect if this is some form of joke filled romp.

If this is just just gay furry funtime for gay furries, that's cool, have your fun. I'm not gonna complain, just means it's probably not for me. If this is more of a "everyone get in here so you can be made fun of while we also make fun of ourselves", as such an in your face name implies, then I'm probably down to join the party.

I'd say the humour of the game isn't really making fun of -anyone- or anything, it's just silly goofiness. There's an enemy who's so tall that the legs extend off the top of the screen and the librarian who writes your bestiary entries complains why didn't you point the camera up more to send her the photo.

Gay furry funtime isn't a bad way to put it - think "a whole series of a serialized Saturday morning comedy adventure cartoon starring a gaggle of lesbians". But I know a lot of gay furries, and they're great folks, and hanging out with characters like them for 15 hours was a fun time for me!

The on the nose title gave me the impression there was going to be some sort of overarching message, gag, or parody to the game rather than being a literal statement of the content. Your comment and other things I've seen tells me "What if we dumped a tanker truck of rainbow paint onto Undertale?"

Nothing wrong with that, but not really my jam. I did like Undertale for the gameplay subversions and stuff, but never really got into everything that followed in it's wake. Thanks for the input.

Also just restating; I really don't care about groups or their choices, as long as everyone respects leaving each other alone if that is their wish, and intended to check any further discussion of that at the door. Would rather a thread people can look at for answers about the game, not one that devolves into a shouting match about identity.

it's an rpg about lesbian animals. it's extraordinarily not that deep, man. i can pretty confidently state if you are getting *this* mixed up over the game just being called that, this is probably not a game you will like lol

What I want to know is why my topic was locked when it had nothing inflammatory in it unless you count pointing out that there are fifty billion examples of rep for wlw but basically nothing for mlm that isn't Literally Just PornTM as inflammatory, but I guess in my experience lesbians tend to absolutely blow a fuse when you point that out

This game's title sadly seems to apparently be the ultimate beacon for attracting irony-poisoned randos looking for a game that just makes fun of gay people will no clarity of purpose. If only they could read the description....

The topic wasn't locked because of anything you said, but because it was attracting comments from transphobic trolls that had to be deleted, as well as people trying to argue with said transphobic trolls.

Thing is, that's actually VERY common when titles are simple and blatant and the descriptions keep the joke going. I wasn't looking for anything that was dedicated purely to bashing any one specific group, as that would get boring and stale as well. I was merely wondering if it was indeed "As stated on the tin" or if there was something more.

Remember that "Frog Fractions" exists - When originally released, it gave a simple title and simple description that never gave away that there was one massive rabbit hole you were about to get pulled down. Hemasaurus was my example because it was more recent, perhaps it wasn't the best one to use.

I sympathize with the dev and community for the headache they are being given due to the title of the game, hence why I have very politely asked and have done my best to keep this on the "Please discuss and explain the game" track, both for my initial curiosity at the title and so that others may have a quick place to look, say "Oh, okay..." and move on instead of bothering you further.

I agree with op, I don't buy agenda fuelled material or things of a sexual nature without knowing ahead of time, romance/Sci-fi don't mix and pron/gore mixing is psychologically disturbing, to me. If comics ever stressed political correctness over metaphysical plot devices, I would have read something else.

Hetero sex in Marvel is only for mixing powers, and is sill lame. I only have a problem with all the whining and boasting sacrificing integrity. Even Tony and Pepper never happened until MCU hetero demographic BS needed more female customers.

Down with all pride! Let's stop bragging about how we use our junk. Let's be socially asexual from now on, lol. Yeah right. I wonder if people will attack me for this honesty...again.

If you have the clarity of mind to tell that this just isn't for you, why can't you just act on that? Why do you have to stroll in and go "I mean I don't like this put the spears down guys I'm so brave". It's ironic how people like this claim that people being proud of themselves for being gay is for attention when this is the *actual* behavior that's for attention.
