SULFUR
Is there a "true" ending?
Just chased the witch back to the cave after beating it in the burning church.

No need to tell me how to get there, but is there an ending out of the loop to actually finish the witch (and the game) for good?

I had a gut feeling that finishing the looped cave with an uncharged amulet might trigger that but I don't want to go through desert -> veil -> caves again tonight.

Bumping this too - is there one? The cellar behind the church is still locked and that was seemingly an important detail from every single flashback.

I played some Endless Mode and that didn't seem to really have anything new other than a way to farm tickets easily.

Any sort of additional ending or is the game truly just a loop?
No "true end" at the moment.
Still no true ending? Saw a few major patches but wasn't sure if it was worth returning since I beat the game back in Feb.
I beat the game from the very begining, without charging the amulet, but still the same ending
I'd say that this is the 'true' ending.
The Witch says so herself if you exhaust her dialogue.

She mentions that by the beginning of the game, she is already dead with her body somewhere in the caves. She uses us to charge the amulet, which is the last splinter of herself that's alive, to extract power from the shrines which then allows her to go back to the point in time where we fight in the church, in the real world. Even when we lose to her, the amulet makes us reappear at the church in Sulfur, so we can always go after her again.

So unless we choose to not fight her and let our congregation die, we are stuck in the loop.
