Best Compact But Filling Food Worth Cooking?
Anyone know any recipes for a food that's compact like maybe one slot or two that can fill your health bar easily?

From what I know: 8 velvet bells (pink mushrooms) can make fried mushroom (heals 15 hp, takes 2 spaces) if you don't have a stick to make skewers. 9 rodsopps (red mushroom) or 3 rodsopps and a herb make a health potion (heals 100 hp, takes 1 space and removes burning and poison). 1 bread and 1 butter makes 4 butter sandwiches (each heals 15 hp, each takes 1 space). 2 cheeses, or 3 cheeses, or 2 cheeses and a stick, or 1 cheese and a broth make fondue (heals 50 hp, takes 2 spaces). Combing 1 broth with any flesh, mystery meat, snail, or 3 pink or red mushrooms make food that heals 20-30 hp depending on which one it is combined with with all of them taking 2 spaces.
Most ways of making 1x1 food are "compact but filling", with healing potions being the absolute best (1x1 for 100 hp), but not terribly practical since you don't really want to stay on low hp to make the most out of health potion.
But generally you'd be cooking mushrooms anyway, even if their recipes are not terribly compact or filling.

One relatively common non-mushroom food is fondue (cheese+cheese+stick or a bunch of other stuff, but stick is usually the easiest), that's two 2x1 items each healing for 50 hp. Not compact at all, but pretty great for healing major injuries.
These are my go to foods for this:
  • 9 Rödsopp mushrooms makes a 1×1 health potion, with heals 100 hp.
  • Fish + green glob makes Surstromming, which slowly heals 50 hp and takes up a 1×1.
You can make green globs from snails and a rock.
  • Cheese + Bread + (creature) meat makes a cheeseburger, which heals 200 (or 100?) hp and also take up a 1×1 slot too. Mystery meat doesn't work.
  • A pizza slice takes up a 1×1 slot too and heals 75 hp, but needs a lot of ingredients.

There are plenty of 1×2 foods that are simple to make and heal 30 to 50 hp:
  • Mashed potatoes:
    • Potato + water
    • Potato + potato
    • Potato + rock
  • Raclette:
    • Potato (1 or 2) + cheese (1 or 2)
  • Fondue:
    • Broth + cheese
  • Spaghetti Bolognese
    • Spaghetti + meat
  • Spicy sausage:
    • (Creature) meat + intestines
    • intestines + mystery meat (do it in this order or you'll make Pölsa!)
    • Combine this with a stick or broth to double the output.
You can find more here.
Thank you so much this will really help with my runs!
farm broths. so collect bones/ and water to make your own, each broth can be turned into TWO 1x2 stews so one broth = 2 foods you need the flesh or mystery meat to make said foods tho

Bread with cheese. And bread with butter. Both bread and butter are quite common no matter the location you are on. And cheese are fairly common as well
It might take the time and space but chocolate mudcakes heal for 50 in 10 secs. If I remembered correctly using cacao, egg, butter, sugar, and flour made about 5 of them and take 1x1 spaces and sell for 140 gold each.
Pizza makes 5 pizza slices that heal for 100 each, you dont need much more than that on a single heal and the slices take 1x1. All you need is early game ingredients you can find in caves and sewers for herbs, cheese/bread/herbs/sausage just make sure to shoot in the stomach to get intestines
Cheeseburgers (45 HP), health potions (90 HP), and pizza slice (100 HP) are the most space-efficient ones I know of. Tacos are often on my menu because they're so easy, same for mulled wine:
  • Spice Mix + Mystery Meat (or any kind of Flesh) = Hardshell Taco x2 (25 HP, 1 slot)
  • Red Wine + Sugar = Mulled Wine x2 (30 HP, 1 slot, cures poison and frost)
Raclette is also easy (and sells well):
  • Potato + Cheese + Egg = Raclette x2 (50 HP, 2 slots)
Early on I ate a lot of ramen (only cook this on a 4x4 stove like the one in the church):
  1. Egg + Flour + Water Bottle = Spaghetti x3
  2. Spaghetti + Broth + any kind of Flesh = Ramen x4 (40 health, 2 slots)
Broth and flesh are easy to get, that means if you have an Egg, Flour, and Water you can turn them into 480 HP total (as opposed to 40 HP total if you just ate the ingredients). Which makes ramen quite efficient, but be aware that it's much more compact BEFORE cooking (12 or 13 slots as ingredients, but 24 as ramen). So it's effectively 40-HP-per-slot when stored as ingredients, 20-HP-per-slot when ready to eat.
get 5 cheese and five sticks but put one stick in the oven and one cheese in the oven to make cheese fondue (heals 50) and it is amazing. if your broke af and dont have cheese use 9 rodsopp (funky mushrooms) to make a healing potion (heals 90) and my personal favorite. this one is really good the pizza is crafting with bread. spicy sausage herbs and cheese. once you make it. put it in the oven again to make six seperate pizza's that heal 100 each
Think double cheeseburgur is the best (200 hp over 1 square) or health potion is nice too (100 hp over 1 square)
