(a somewhat still new player) question about changing ammo types with chisels?
was considering saving up for a chisel but im worried it will change the guns class / type?
like if i change a rifle 9mm to 7.62 does it go from a rifle to sniper rife?
or if i make it shoot shotgun shells does it become classed as a shot gun?
iv got armor that boosts rifle by 10%
and im worried if i save up and chisel the gun to 7.62 it will become a sniper type and the armor damage % is useless?

The gun class doesn't change but the DAMAGE DOES.

Example, I changed the caliber from 5.56 to 9mm and lost some damage. Can't remember the numbers though.

Gun type/class doesn't change with chisel kits (or anything).

thank you also another question is rifle damage apply to both rifles and snipers or just rifles?
You'll only get a bonus for rifles. Snipers are different and have their own damage boosting gear.

The only gear that can boost the damage of multiple gun types are the ski mask and the high cut helmet, which give a boost to "automatics," i.e. anything with an automatic fire cycle.

i see thank you
Keep in mind, changing the ammo type doesn't just adjust the damage, but also recoil, since you're firing a larger round.

And if you alter a gun to fire shotgun shells, it's probably not going to be as accurate at range as before, but it'll be much deadlier in close combat. It all depends on what idea you have in mind.

recoil too, and damage growing from cheapest to most expensive ammo, and class scale too from pistols to rifles/dolphin
