SULFUR

Where do I find my save file?
Currently the game does not support multiple save files, however this isn't my first rodeo. I know there should be a place in the files that I can go to to extract the save file so as to put in a new one while keeping the first intact. However I haven't done this in a while. Does anyone know where to find this?

I don't understand what you're talking about. Steam cloud prioritizes local saves.
You need to do that:
1) Copy the save somewhere.
2) Empty the folder manually or reset from in-game settings to create a new save file
3) After you're done playing on a new file, backup it in the other directory.
Now you have 2 directories with 2 different save files, that you can switch by just replacing current files in active gamesave folder
Steam Cloud will eat whatever local save is currently active and renew it. If you have problems with STeam Cloud interfering, hust disable it for SULFUR specifically
P.S. I recommend backupping the entire folder with all the files inside, not just Profile.es3. that way you won't have any issues
What happened on your last attempt is the game restored the save from .BACKUP file, I guess. The backups were introduced pretty recently, so I never dealt with them. Anyway, if you copy the entire folder, you also copy the .BACKUP file, so there will be no issues.
Holy Moly I'm essaying right here...

And what about the backup? Should I rename that?

No, don't rename anything, just copy the whole folder's contents somewhere, and whenever you need, paste all that back and replace, that's the easiest way.

I tried this. What happened is that the game just automatically recreated the save file after I booted up the game. Would I have to go into the options and manually reset the file while the save is in a different file?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
